How many calories does it take to burn one pound of fat?

It takes 3,500 calories to gain or lose one pound. To lose one pound per week, you need to decrease your calories by 500 every day. This is usually done by cutting 250 calories out of your diet and burning the other 250 through activity. A cheeseburger and fries can cost you around 2200 calories. Eat this twice in one week and you just gained yourself a pound! Its actually a lot easier to gain weight than people think, especially if you have a hearty appetite or eat unhealthy foods! Dining out frequently is a sure fire way to pack on the pounds. If you know you are going to eat out, check the menu before you head out and try to choose something lower in calories and fat.
