Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie

Sometimes we want something to shake up our protein shakes!  This recipe satisfies that craving for something a little sweeter. With strawberries, cashews and oatmeal, it’s refreshing, filling and super tasty! It’s also ideal for someone who is maybe easing into protein powder supplementation or isn’t comfortable using the powder, as it calls for cashews instead. And if you’re watching your fats and don’t want to use all of the nuts, you can cut it in half or take them out altogether and replace it with protein powder. If you like a “hearty” shake, you’ll love this!

1 .5 cups frozen strawberries OR 1 cup nonfrozen strawberries and 1 cup ice

1 cup rolled oats

1 cup cashews

1 cup almond milk

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Blend and enjoy!
