Ask the Trainer- I've Stopped Losing Weight:

Q: I have been working out for a while now and stopped losing weight. What is happening?

A: More than likely, you have hit a plateau. This means that your body has become used to the activity you have been doing to lose weight. Our bodies are super smart and become very efficient over time when the same activity is performed. If you want to change the way your body looks you have to continuously keep changing the activities performed. You’ll notice the majority of our classes are ever changing at Hit It!® Fitness. Our Hit It!® Kickbox routines are never the same for this very reason! Sometimes the emphasis is legs, or upperbody or rotation for more core work! Either way, you get an amazing workout and it feels different each time you step foot into class!

To challenge your body, do a variety of exercises. If you like to run or walk, increase your speed every 2 minutes to increase your heart rate even more. For example, walk 2 minutes, run 2 minute, and repeat for 20-30 minutes. For runners, run 2 minutes at your normal speed then sprint for 1 minute and repeat for 20-30 minutes. If you want to try a class but are unsure you can handle it, take 20 minutes or do all of the low intensity moves to start, then build from there!
