Side Dish Ideas
The Hit It!®Fitness trainers have come up with some great tasting ideas. We all choose to eat healthy but refuse to sacrifice on flavor. Eating healthy should never mean bland, dull or boring. Here are some simple side dishes easy to even please the food critic at home…
Baked sweet potato with one teaspoon coconut oil and a couple dashes of cinnamon
Fennel with Olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper…Fennel or Anise can be found in the vegetable aisle of your local grocery store. Wash well and cut off the stems. Using a knife, slice as you would an onion. Take some of the fennel shavings from the stems and sprinkle over the sliced anise. Add juice from 1/2 of a fresh lemon, sprinkle with salt and pepper..delicious!
Veggie steamers are super easy! Find fresh veggies in steamer bags (not frozen). Broccoli is my fav! Microwave as directed and dress veggies with olive oil, lemon, garlic, salt and pepper…goodbye butter!Who needs you?!
Apple with Lime and chile powder… Chop apples and toss with 1 lime and a generous sprinkle of Chile powder..add a pinch of salt to really bring out the flavor! The lime preserves the apple a bit without turning it brown and the chile powder gives it a kick!
Speaking of chile powder, have you tried corn on the cob with Chile powder and Grass-fed butter? LOVE it!
